What are Intelligent Lighting Control Systems?

Intelligent Lighting Control Systems are a fundamental part of many automated smart homes and provide complete automation of your home lighting, dimmers, switching and shading. Programming lighting system controls to react to changes in light levels or to activate lights at certain times offers home security benefits for the absent home-owner.  Occupant sensors can be used to ensure energy is not wasted when a room is unoccupied. Which Lighting Control System Products do we offer?

The Integrators partner with two world leading suppliers of intelligent lighting control systems: Lutron and Rako.

Lutron's HomeWorks Whole-Home Lighting Control System is designed to interact with other systems in the home such as home security, fire, multi room remote control touch screens, multi room audio / hi fi and multi room tv / video systems. The system typically consists of:

• Master keypads for main rooms have buttons programmed specifically for your needs, with custom engraving and LED indicator lights to announce the status of lights and shades through the home. Soft illumination makes them easy to find in the darkest of rooms.
• Dimmers and Switches replace standard light switches to provide local room control, while Remote Dimming Panels, concealed from view, replace multiple dimmers and switches for rooms with more complex lighting arrangements, leaving a cleaner interior finish.
• Lutron Sivoia Quiet Electronic Drive roller shades, roman shades and curtains respond to specific instructions or automated programming of the system.
• Lutron HomeWorks isn’t just restricted to hard-wired systems - a wireless lighting control system using RF (radio frequency technology) can be added to extend your intelligent lighting control. Wireless lighting control is particularly useful in less modern homes where hard-wiring would be disruptive and visually unappealing.

The preset system at the heart of Lutrons lighting control systems is Lutron GRAFIK – a system capable of creating new lighting arrangements at the touch of a button. Fading between settings can take place instantly or last for up to an hour depending on your needs. Lutron GRAFIK is also compatible with multi-room remote control touch screens, music servers and video servers to deliver the atmosphere you want instantaneously.

Rako provides digital dimming technology: extensive and extendable wireless lighting control systems.
Rako control panels come in a variety of stylish finishes and can control up to 15 lighting channels per room, up to a total of 65,000 rooms. The lighting control panels make full scene programming straightforward and contain a master house control option. It’s not just dimmers and lighting control settings though where Rako performs; it can also control automated curtains, blinds and projector screens.
As you’d expect from a wireless lighting control system, the Rako system is compatible with some of our other preferred suppliers, including NetStreams, Philips Pronto and Opus.
