Home Automation Structured Cabling

Custom Installation Training & Support

Installation

Our 5"sTar" installation service pledge to all our clients is:

  •  Talk to you (and your project team) and agree the "whats" and "whens".
  •  Turn up when we promissed, prepared.
  •  Treat your home with care.
  •  Tidy up, always.
  •  Tell you what we've done.

This may seem simple but we understand we are working in your home and around your lives.  How many times have you arranged for a service engineer or salesperson to visit and they didn't arrive or arrive late without the basic decency to call.  Put simply that will not happen with The Integrators.

The installation of a Home Automation project evolves in four stages;

"First Fix" stage

During the "First Fix" stage, cabling is placed into the fabric of your home to ensure they are as invisible as possible.  Where possible we try to install cable in conduit to allow for the the cables to be replaced or increased in the future.  Where your project involves a new build or complete renovation.  Our work is conducted after the plumbing and electrical trades have completed their "first fix" work but before plasterers and decorators start their work.  We also conduct cable continuity testing during this stage to ensure the cables have not become damaged during installation. Allowing them to be replaced as early as possible.

Where you have an electrician working on the project, it may be more economical or convenient for you to have them "pull" our cables at the same time.  Our cables are different from that which an electrician would normally work with and they require a lot more care and consideration in order to ensure their performance is not impeded. We will support your electrician by providing some Do's and Dont's, if they are new to our cables.  We will supply all the correct specification of cable and produce detailed cable schedules which your electrician can rely on to install the cable.

"Second Fix" stage

The "Second Fix" stage is generally started after decorators have completed.  Here we terminate the cables using only best connectors and faceplates.  Cables are also labled to ensure easy supportability in the future.  We also conduct Fluke Qualification testing.  This benchmarks the cables to ensure they meet minimum standards of perfomance.  Following Qualification testing a report is produced and provided to you as part of your documentation pack.

"Finish" stage

This is where the "finished" equipment, for example; speakers, touchscreens and the main Audio\Visual components are installed.  Equipment is tested and programmed at our workshops before being installed.

Commisioning stage

We conduct a comprehensive test in-situ on all the equipment before we demonstrate it to you and your family. Your Functional Specification will be reviewed to ensure everything we promissed will work, actually works.

Demonstration

Demonstrating a well designed Home Automation system is easy.  We simply hand you the control and you know what to do because everything has been designed intuitively around you. We will of course also demonstrate how everything works, if needed, as many times you require.

Demonstrating your new Home Automation or Entertainment system is also the most rewarding part of our work. Seeing your faces when you see the picture quality of your favourite film, or the accoustical clarity from your favourite album or simply your relief when you appreciate how easy it all is to use.

Is that the end?  No, read how we look after you and your Smart Home for many years to come in our Support and Maintenance section.
